Inxmail Professional 4.6.0

Improved user navigation in the Mailing Editor

With Inxmail Professional 4.6 we take another important step towards improved usability and performance. This version features basic changes to the interface of the Mailing Editor that will make it easier for you to perform everyday tasks with Inxmail Professional.

Click-to-edit

For editing Advanced and Comfort Templates* the new version of our email marketing solution offers very practical support. The new click-to-edit function simplifies navigation in the Template Editor and makes editing easier.

To edit an article, image or other element in your newsletter, simply click the corresponding element in the preview area of the mailing. The selected element is then immediately displayed on the left side of the Mailing Editor. This makes it even easier to navigate your template, and it saves you time when creating the newsletter.

* The click-to-edit function works with all templates. In the case of individually customized enterprise or indivdual templates, however, the function may only be available to a limited extent.

Revised interface design

We have redesigned the Mailing Editor interface for mailings, trigger mailings and split test mailings as well as for dynamic websites. Larger fonts and structured areas give the interface an intuitive layout that is easy to navigate.

Bug fixes, minor optimisations and modifications

General

  • Java was updated to version 8u121. As a result, the ‘Let’s encrypt’ certification authority is now supported on the server side.
  • Import of recipients via ODBC data sources is no longer possible.
  • When importing a recipient via JDBC data sources, it is now also possible to select MySQL and MS SQL-Server from the drop-down list of data sources. In addition, the last successfully tested URL is saved for each data source and displayed during the next import.

Agent inbox and bounces

  • It is now possible to limit the retention time of bounce mails. Afterwards, bounce mails will be automatically deleted. In previous versions, bounce mails were not deleted automatically.
  • It is more efficient to delete a large number of bounce mails.

Mailings agent

  • Support for image formats: The new version also supports JPEG files created in the CMYK or sRGB colour space.
  • Image source links containing spaces and special characters or umlauts are now correctly coded (in previous versions, image source links containing spaces, special characters or umlauts were incorrectly coded and caused an error).

Test profiles agent

  • If a space is added at the end of an address in the ‘email’ column of a test profile, the space is automatically deleted (in previous versions, an added space was not deleted and could prevent the link to the browser view from functioning).
  • If the contents of a column in a test profile are deleted, the value of the column is set to NULL, just like with empty columns that have not yet been filled (in previous versions, when a column was cleared, the column value was set to “”, which made it impossible to query empty columns consistently via IS_EMPTY).

Modules agent

  • The performance of the mailing preview when using many modules was improved.
  • Placeholders can be used in modules. Parameters can be specified here, for example, to apply additional segmentation to target groups within a mailing. For more information on this topic, please consult the online help or our software documentation.

Target groups agent

  • The number of parallel recipient queries when using target groups based on recipient reactions is now limited. This prevents the queries from using all the database connections.

Plug-ins agent

  • In the Voucher plug-in, the dialog for saving vouchers can now be used (since Inxmail Professional 4.5, it was not possible to save them).

Users agent

  • The user log now reports when the sending of trigger mails is activated.

JSP

  • The width of the drop-down lists for List and Column name is determined by the longest entry and is limited to a maximum width (in previous versions, the drop-down lists were too wide when they contained very long list names or column names).

Webspace connection

  • Webspace connections always remain active, even if the user is inactive for a longer period of time.

Server

  • PostgreSQL 9.6 is officially supported.
  • Tomcat has been updated to version 8.5.11.

API (Version 1.13.3)

  • If the contents of a column in a test profile are deleted, the value of the column is set to NULL, just like with empty columns that have not yet been filled (in previous versions, when a column was cleared, the column value was set to “”, which made it impossible to query empty columns consistently via IS_EMPTY).
  • It is also possible to look up transformations without creation dates via PHP SOAP API (in previous versions, an error occurred when querying transformations via the PHP SOAP API if at least one of the queried transformations lacked a creation date).
