Your action is required - Manual reinstallation of Inxmail Professional
Before updating to version 4.8.14, you must perform a manual reinstallation of Inxmail Professional. Otherwise, working with Inxmail Professional is not possible.

Must I first uninstall the old version of Inxmail Professional?
A prior deinstallation is not required and should not be carried out.
Background: Presettings or configurations are generally lost through a deinstallation. This includes the clients (login URL) in the login dialog box, or information on the proxy server. After a deinstallation, you would have to configure these settings again.
What are the benefits of the new Inxmail Professional version?
Updates concerning the security of the data transmission were implemented in the new version of Inxmail Professional. Also, the latest version of Java was integrated. In addition, technical requirements for future function extensions were created.
Why is a manual installation required?
Usually, it is not necessary to manually install new versions of Inxmail Professional. New functionalities or bug fixes are implemented via automatic updates in the known maintenance slots.
However, Inxmail Professional does contain a few functions that cannot be updated automatically and for which an update is required only very rarely. These are functions that are implemented in the login dialog box.
How can a manual update be performed as a general rule?
Please be aware that administrator rights are required to perform the installation. So you may require the assistance of your IT administrator.
How do I proceed to perform the installation?

2. Save the msi file in a location of your choice.
3. Double-click the msi file.
4. Follow the instructions in the installation wizard.
Note If you applied the standard settings for your current Inxmail Professional installation, you can apply the standard settings suggested in the installation wizard for the new installation. The installation files are stored in the following path: C:\Program Files\Inxmail\Client\
If you made customisations during a previous installation, we recommend that you first create a backup of the previous installation directory, to be able to see previous settings. This can concern the Inxmail configuration file (loader.properties), for instance.
How can I tell whether the installation was performed successfully?
Start Inxmail Professional after the installation.
1. Open the Settings section.
2. The following version is displayed at the bottom right of the screen after a successful installation: v126.96.36.199 (or higher)
Note After the installation, the login to Inxmail Professional is performed in two steps. In the first step, the client is selected. In the second step, the login data needs to be entered.
Does my login data for Inxmail Professional change after the update?
Your login data stays the same. Log in with your existing user name and password. The login URL also stays the same.
Is my data (recipients, mailings, and so on) retained?
All your data such as recipients, mailing lists, mailings, and so on, remains unchanged.
There are new features and upgrades in Version 4.8.14 for email marketing with Inxmail Professional.
With version 4.8.14, we have introduced improvements that allow you to protect yourself even better against list bombing attacks. In the case of a list bombing attack, subscriptions to your newsletter are made by computer programs or bots. An enormous number of fictitious or actually existing email addresses are transferred to your registration form and the registration process is triggered (DOI) or even executed (SOI). The owners of the email addresses know nothing about this.
Using Google reCAPTCHA in HTML subscription forms
With version 4.8.14 you can now integrate Google reCAPTCHA into HTML subscription forms you have created yourself. (Embedding into dynamic web pages of type "Subscription" was already possible.) By including Google reCAPTCHA in your HTML subscription form, you prevent computer programs or bots from registering via your website.
The integrated version of Google reCAPTCHA uses algorithms to determine whether a person or a computer program visits a Web page. This means that tests in which certain objects must be identified in a series of pictures usually become redundant.
