There are new features and upgrades in Version 4.8.6 for email marketing with Inxmail Professional.
Updates to the User Interface
The user interface of Inxmail Professional has been renewed once again. Feedback from users was incorporated into the changes. At the same time, adjustments were made to Inxmail's brand identity.
The left-hand area of Inxmail Professional in which the agents are displayed and also the header area are displayed in light color.
Active objects are yellow
Active objects are displayed in yellow. For example, the tab page of a mailing is displayed in yellow as soon as you open it. The active workflow step in the mailing editor is also highlighted in yellow.
The mailing icons have been improved so that they can be distinguished even better, especially with regard to their processing and dispatch status. The open envelope has also been reintroduced.
A detailed overview of all mailing icons can be found in the online help.
"Subscription" Web page
You can integrate Google reCAPTCHA into the Web page "Subscription". This will prevent computer programs or bots from subscribing via the Web page.
The integrated version of Google reCAPTCHA uses algorithms to determine whether a person or a computer program visits a Web page. This means that tests in which certain objects must be identified in a series of pictures usually become redundant.
Note: The Google reCAPTCHA functionality is available as of Inxmail Professional 4.8.6. If you have created a "Subscription" Web page before Inxmail Professional 4.8.6 and want to use the Google reCAPTCHA functionality, you must create a new "Subscription" Web page. Copying an existing web page is not sufficient.
One-Click list-unsubscribe header
In each newsletter, the recipient can end his subscription via the unsubscribe link contained in the newsletter. In addition, numerous e-mail providers in their e-mail applications offer the option of unsubscribing from the newsletter via separate buttons. This form of unsubscribing from a newsletter is ensured by the so-called list-unsubscribe header.
Inxmail Professional 4.8.6 meets a requirement of the CSA (Certified Senders Alliance) to extend the list-unsubscribe header. This is the so-called "one-click list-unsubscribe" method. Again, the recipient clicks on a separate button in the email application to unsubscribe from the newsletter. This means that nothing changes from the receiver's point of view. However, the unsubscription is done technically via a POST request. As a result, for example, accidental unsubscribes by anti-spam software can be avoided.
The corresponding extension of the list-unsubscribe header is, as of Inxmail Professional 4.8.6, automatically integrated in the e-mail header. This applies to all mailings that are sent from standard mailing lists and for which the option 'Process list unsubscribe unsubscription automatically in this system' is selected in the Advanced properties of the mailing list under 'Unsubscription via list-unsubscribe'.
- In the visual link analysis and in the mailing preview, the display of images has been optimised. Images are now loaded again reliably using secure connections.
- The print and export function in the visual link evaluation is no longer available.
The function "HasTrackingPermission" can be used without the parameter ListId within modules. When applying the module (e.g. within a mailing) the current list context will be automatically taken into account.
- The operating system macOS Mojave is supported.
- The operating system Mac OS X El Capitan is no longer supported.
Java was updated to version 11.0.2.
Tomcat was updated to version 8.5.38.
Inxmail Professional uses the JxBrowser to display web-based components. The JxBrowser is updated with Inxmail Professional 4.8.6.
The JxBrowser is a separate application that is installed with Inxmail Professional.
It is started automatically by Inxmail Professional if necessary. To make an automatic start possible, your Windows settings should be set up so that applications from the Inxmail Professional installation directory can be started.
Details (you may need the support of your administrator)
To start the JxBrowser you must ensure that the file "browsercore32.exe" can be executed. When installed with default paths, the file is stored in the following directory: "%APPDATA%/Inxmail/Inxmail_Client_Professional/work/jxbrowser_6.23.1/chromium". We recommend that you allow the start of applications from "% APPDATA% / Inxmail / Inxmail_Client_Professional" in general, so that new components can also be started for future Inxmail Professional updates.
